Above are just a few software used in computer technology. All I have not heard of except Microprocessor and Microcomputer Applications, and Computer Networks and Systems. These seemed new to me until I seen the definition for them and what they were all capable of. They are not so foreign, although some I have never used before. One type of software listed I believe everyone will have to use in most fields is the Computer Microprocessor Applications. It has the Windows Operating System along with Microsoft Word and Excel, I believe everyone uses those at one time or another.
Lab 2 Multimedia Project
January 26, 2007 at 4:23 am | In Uncategorized | 5 CommentsEvery day technology affects our lives. Now-a-days everything is electronic or computed. Think about it, alarm clock, elevators, cars, telephone, ipods, computers, internet, etc. These are everyday things we use, and these very things are continuously being updated around us. Look how far the computer has come for example. It has came from enormous fifty pound machine, to pocket pcs that are slightly bigger than a regular cell phone. I am going to try to project where technology is headed from what past we are now and showing the latest technology that you may never have seen.

Eye catches isn’t it, this is the Adesso Illuminated Multimedia Keyboard. The light prevents eye strain when you can not see in the dark. Has 18 Multimedia fuctions on the top of the keyboard. This creation is appealing to computer buyers because all of us can relate to, in which our eyes hurt from the darkness of the keyboard, besides is pretty. located at pricegrabber.com

Yes, the great and powerful iMAC, we’ve all seen the ads and commercials of the comparison to the pc. Well the MAC comes with intel core 2 duo processor that makes it 50% faster, built in sight camera, front row and apple remote, and the ability to create albums, movies, and blogs. The transition that we are making is clearly the ability to input things that we would usually have to either buy or download seperately from the device we purchased.
The best computer for me has the highest speed internet possible obviously. My monitor would be similar to the iMAC. Mouse would have the sensitivity as an ipod, as far as touch sensitive
CRITICAL THINKING
January 18, 2007 at 8:50 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentThere are a number of reasons why I have changed my major from computer engineering to computer and information technology. I believe I am more knowledgable of the software of computers rather than the hardware. So there are a number of things I believe that can contribute to my learning that I seen in the table of contents. Computer Basics was one I believe I need to know obviously to be successful. Another is the Internet, it is so critical to learn different ways of retrieving information or for promotion. The web also deals with the internet as well, can not stress that enough. Web technology is something also I believe I would need to learn about. And last but not least, Software Basics, I need to know the essentials of computer software in order to be successful.
On the flip side, there are things I honestly believe would be a waste of time. Things that are not really key for my personal success but may be necessary for others. One of them is Security Privacy, I believe I am aware of security policies. Also Storage Devices, good to know, but not really required to be successful. How a Micro Executes Instructions, again, good to know but just not really necessary for myself. File Formats, I am pretty knowledgable on that subject already. Digital Audio is interesting, but I know a good deal on that as well.

update Apple Computer is acknowledging a flaw in its new iPod Nano music player, offering to replace for free models that shipped with a defective screen that is prone to cracking.
A company representative said that the issue was a manufacturing, rather than a design problem, and said it affected less than one-tenth of 1 percent of all the Nanos that have shipped so far.
“This is a real, but minor issue involving a vendor quality problem in a small number of units,” the representative said. “Any user with a defective screen should contact AppleCare (the company’s customer service unit) and we will replace it for free.”
However, the representative said that the screen-cracking issue is separate from reports that the slim new music player is more easily scratched than prior models. Complaints about both issues surfaced shortly after Apple introduced the flash memory-based Nano earlier this month.
“A few vocal customers are saying their Nano is more susceptible to scratching than prior iPods,” the Apple representative said. Apple said the Nano is made of the same polycarbonate plastic as the fourth-generation iPod and said it does not believe the scratching problem is widespread.
“If customers are concerned about scratching, we suggest they use one of the many iPod Nano cases that are now becoming available,” the representative said.
Matthew Peterson, a Nano owner who posted a Web site complaining about the problem said he is “very delighted to see Apple take this issue seriously.”

“It is sad that it took a Web site and a lot of publicity before they finally investigated, but at least future Nano users with the same problem I had will not be subjected to the same treatment that I was,” Peterson said in an update to his site. “This was a real issue, and most people tried to ignore it. I know a lot of people are going to complain that they still have to spend extra money on a case to prevent scratching.”
Earlier this year, Apple settled several class action suits related to the battery life of earlier iPod models, offering credits and extended warranties to those who experienced battery issues
